7 differences to evaluate before trying live transfers

The unit you buy changes. So does the workflow you need.

A stored contact record and a live handoff are different purchases. Moving between them changes when work happens and how you measure it. Before comparing prices, understand the specific terms of each source and the work your team will still need to do.

  1. Compare the purchased unit

One offer may price contact records while another prices live transfers. Those units are not interchangeable. Read the definition of delivery for each provider before treating a per-unit price as a direct value comparison.

  2. Compare when you need to be available

A contact list may be worked through according to your approved outreach process. A live transfer requires receiving capacity at delivery time. Check how that shift fits your calendar rather than assuming the same schedule will work.

  3. Compare the information supplied

Ask what details accompany each opportunity and how they may be used. Do not assume a transfer includes every field you have received with a prior list. Prepare your opening questions around the information actually available.

  4. Compare the caller’s expectations

Ask how the transfer is introduced and what interest is established before handoff. Avoid treating any person as ready to buy merely because they are connected. Confirm their needs through the conversation.

  5. Compare documented terms

Review delivery definitions, issue reporting, and any stated replacement or refund conditions. Providers can differ. A policy you had with an aged-lead supplier does not automatically apply to a transfer package.

  6. Compare your working time

Track the time spent receiving, documenting, and following up, alongside any differences in dialing work. Do not assign a made-up time saving. Your actual workflow provides a more useful comparison than a general industry promise.

  7. Compare downstream results

Keep applications and issued policies separate from the number of opportunities purchased. Allow for unresolved cases. The cheapest contact and the cheapest transfer are both incomplete measures of the cost of acquiring business.
